1920

A pionneer in organic : Emile Noël becomes the first oil-mill to process organic seeds.

2003

Emile Noël, the founder, dies on
the 18th September 2011, aged 82 years-old,
leaving a rich family heritage.

2015

It is between the Provence and the Cévennes that Emile Noël (father) decides to buy his first oil-mill.

1972

As the result of a long-term established presence in Africa, it has come naturally that the company obtains an Organic Fair Trade certification.

2011

David Garnier succeeds to his mother at the Presidency of the Company and brings a new vision on the development of the Company.

Emile Noël (father) had Hippie friends from Ardèche who cultivated their garden with no chemical product.This is when Emile Noël thought that organic was probably the future.

Emile Noël (father) used to have for breakfast an egg cooked with rapeseed oil, in which he was dipping bread fingers.

Emile Noël (father) was very interested in making peanut oil. As a matter of fact, he launched an experience in his garden to test peanuts crop.

Annick Garnier remembers that her father was sleeping in the oil- mill as it was functioning 24 hours a day. As a little girl, she was seeking to sleep at all costs besides her father, under the purring of the press. He settled a little mattress near him.

Emile Noël (son) started his first organic purchases in 1972. He wrote to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and requested the approval of growing organic sunflower. The CCI replied he was « mad ».

A man from Paris visited the oil-mill and told Emile Noël about the « Maisons de Régime » (today our organic stores). This is when the Noël family chose his distribution channel.

Emile Noël (father) started in1920 pressing olives of the local farmers. Then the oils were distributed to each of them.
