Émile Noël: Pioneer of Fair Trade in Organic Food

Fair trade has been at the heart of Emile Noël’s philosophy since its beginnings as an organic oil mill. This commitment to fair and sustainable practices was recently highlighted in an article by Biopartenaire, an association committed to fair and responsible organic farming.

Emile Noël and Fair Trade

Since our creation, Emile Noël has understood that the key to producing good oils lies in the quality of the raw materials. That’s why we’ve embarked on a journey to discover the places where our products are grown, seeking to harvest the best from each fruit and seed. There’s nothing like a fruit or seed that has grown and matured on its own land to extract the best benefits. In 1972, we were the first oil mill in France to crush organically grown seeds.

A Sustainable Commitment

Our commitment to fair trade is not limited to our French soil. As early as 1985, we established our first supply chain in West Africa, laying the foundations for fair trade. Today, this commitment is still at the heart of our positioning. We have created a multitude of sustainable supply chains in France and around the world, working closely with farmers and organizations to cultivate products such as camelina, flax, sunflower, hemp, walnuts, PDO Haute Provence olive oil, PDO Vallée des Baux-de-Provence, argan from Morocco, avocado from Kenya, Sao Tomé coconut, hazelnut from Turkey, and avocado from Guinea.

Affixing the BIOPARTENAIRE® label

The BIOPARTENAIRE® label on our products is a guarantee for consumers. This testifies to our commitment to 7 key areas: compliance with organic regulations, reciprocal commitments in the supply chain, a fair income for producers, boosting the local economy, ongoing dialogue and solidarity between partners, a progressive social and environmental policy, and reserving labelled products for specialized circuits.

At Emile Noël, our passion for fair trade continues to grow. We’re proud to be at the forefront of the organic food industry, integrating fair, responsible and sustainable practices into everything we do. We invite our customers to join us in this quest for quality food products, using our Biopartenaire article as a source of inspiration for a fairer, more organic future.
